Finland Will Not Make Its Debut at Junior Eurovision 2025 in Tbilisi

2025-08-30

Despite rumors and the hopes of many fans, Finland will not make its long-awaited debut in this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in November 2025 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The Finnish national broadcaster, YLE, confirmed that the country will not participate, citing strategic and scheduling reasons. Although Junior Eurovision continues to gain popularity across Europe, Finland appears to remain committed exclusively to the "adult" Eurovision Song Contest, in which it has participated consistently since 1961.

This decision comes in a year when Junior Eurovision is attracting renewed interest, with several countries considering joining the contest. However, young Finnish artists will have to wait a little longer before seeing their country on the JESC stage.

Junior Eurovision 2025 will be hosted in Tbilisi, Georgia, following the nation's victory in last year's competition. The Georgian capital will open its doors to dozens of talented young performers from across Europe and beyond, in an event that promises color, joy, and musical energy.

Despite Finland's absence, interest in this year's contest remains high, as fans eagerly anticipate the new songs that will compete for victory in Tbilisi.
