The official account dealing with Bulgaria's participation in Eurovision confirmed to x that there are no plans for the country to return to the contest in 2026, which will be held in Vienna.

Bulgaria has left its mark on the institution, with its best placing being 2nd place in 2017, when Kristian Kostov performed "Beautiful Mess" and conquered the European audience. The last time the country participated was in 2022 in Turin, with the band Intelligent Music Project and the song "Intention".

Despite its absence in recent years, many Eurovision fans hope to see Bulgaria return at some point in the future.
